Cookie Policy

Last updated: 5 May 2026

The short version: We only use cookies that are strictly necessary to run the platform. We do not use advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. Cookies help websites remember information about your visit — such as keeping you logged in.

Cookies we use

Snaptory uses only strictly necessary (essential) cookies. These cannot be disabled without breaking the service.

Cookie name Purpose Duration
sessionid Keeps you logged in to your account. Set by Django's session framework. 2 weeks (or until logout)
csrftoken Prevents Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) attacks when you submit forms. Required for security. 1 year
messages Stores one-time notification messages (e.g. "Event created successfully") between page loads. Session (cleared on close)

Cookies we do NOT use

  • No advertising or retargeting cookies (Google Ads, Meta Pixel, etc.)
  • No third-party analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Hotjar, etc.)
  • No social media tracking cookies
  • No A/B testing or personalisation cookies

Third-party cookies

Our payment provider Stripe may set cookies when you complete a payment to detect fraud and verify transactions. These are strictly necessary for the payment flow. You can read Stripe's cookie policy at stripe.com.

Do I need to consent to cookies?

Under the ePrivacy Directive (EU Cookie Law), strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent. Because we use only essential cookies, we do not display a cookie consent banner.

If we ever introduce optional cookies (e.g. for analytics), we will update this policy and add a consent mechanism before doing so.

How to control cookies

You can block or delete cookies using your browser settings. Note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from logging in to Snaptory.
