New to Snaptory? This guide walks you through everything — from creating your account to printing your QR code and downloading your guests' photos after the event.

Setting Up Your First Snaptory Event: A Complete Step-by-Step Tutorial
Guide Practical notes for smoother guest photo collection.

This tutorial covers the full Snaptory workflow from start to finish. Whether you're planning a wedding, a birthday party, a corporate event, or a christening, the process is the same. It takes about five minutes to set up.

What you'll need: a computer or phone with internet access, and something to print your QR code on (table cards, a sign, or just a piece of paper).

Part 1 — Create your account

Go to snaptory.co and click "Get Started Free". Enter your name, email address, and a password. You'll receive a confirmation email — click the link inside to verify your account. Once verified, you'll be taken to your dashboard. This is where all your events live.

Part 2 — Create your event

Click "New Event" from your dashboard. You'll be asked for the event name (e.g. "Emma & Daniel's Wedding"), the event date, and an optional short description that guests will see on the upload page. Click Save. Your event is now live.

Scanning QR code with smartphone
Guests simply point their camera at the QR code — no app download needed.

Part 3 — Get your QR code and upload link

From your event dashboard, you'll see two things: a direct upload link (a URL you can share via text or email) and a QR code image downloadable as PNG. Both go to the same place — your event's guest upload page. Download the QR code by clicking "Download QR Code".

Part 4 — Print your QR code

Option A — Table cards: Open Word, Canva, or Google Slides. Create a small card (A6 or A5 size works well) with your QR code and a short instruction like "Scan to share your photos". Print at home or use a local print shop.

Option B — Welcome sign: Add the QR code to a bottom corner with a short note. Keep the code at least 10cm × 10cm so it's readable from a step away.

Option C — Order of service: Add the QR code to the back page with a line like "Share your photos: scan the code above".

Minimum print size: The QR code scans reliably at 4cm × 4cm. Don't go smaller.

Printing wedding table cards
Table cards are the most effective QR code placement — print them alongside your existing stationery.

Part 5 — What guests experience on the day

When a guest scans your QR code with their phone camera, their browser opens automatically. They see your event name, a simple upload button, and a short description. They tap "Upload Photos", select photos from their camera roll (multiple at once), and tap upload. No account, no app, no login. Works on iPhone, Android, Safari, Chrome, and Firefox.

Part 6 — After the event, download everything

Log back into snaptory.co and go to your event. You'll see the total number of uploads and a "Download All" button. Click it to get a ZIP file containing every photo and video at full resolution, organised by upload time.

Tips for getting the most uploads

  • Three QR code placements is better than one
  • An MC announcement at the reception doubles participation in most cases
  • If you have a photo booth area, place a printed QR code there too
  • Send a thank-you message to guests a few days after the wedding including the upload link — some prefer to upload when they're home

That's it. Five minutes of setup, a lifetime of memories you'd otherwise never see.

Try it on your event
